Title: Terrain and landform indices at 29 soil moisture monitoring plots in the southern Appalachian Mountains of western North Carolina
Abstract: Terrain and landform indices were surveyed at twenty-three plots in the Coweeta basin, three plots in the Beetree watershed, and three plots in Bent Creek Experimental Forest. The plots comprise a network of sensor stations that monitor soil moisture, soil temperature, and air temperature in the Southern Appalachians of western North Carolina. Terrain index measured % slope around the edge of 15-m radius circular plot. Landform index measured % slope of the surrounding regional mountain terrain.
