Title: WS7 & WS2 groundwater chemistry data.
Abstract: A piezometer was installed in valley saprolite near the bottom of WS7 in May 2017 to compare NH4-N, NO3-N, and DIN concentrations in groundwater to concentrations that have been measured in streams as part of the WS7 experiment with WS2 as a reference watershed. Monthy groundwater chemistry samples were taken from this new well, as well as a similar piezometer previously installed at the bottom of WS2 by Ryan Emanual, until January 2020. The WS7 experiment showed that the post-clearcut colonization of WS7 by Robinia caused stream DIN levels to rise relative to reference conditions for 35+ years. This data was meant to evaluate the question of whether these elevated stream DIN levels were reflected in the bulk of groundwater leaving the basin.
